Yoshima
与島
An island crossed by the Seto Ohashi Bridge.
It features Japan's first parking area on a marine expressway. Yoshima is the only place where regular vehicles can exit to a parking area. At Yoshima Plaza, you can purchase various Kagawa souvenirs and enjoy gelato made with seaweed salt and wasanbon sugar. There's also an observation deck with a panoramic view of the Seto Ohashi Bridge.
It's connected to the uninhabited Nabeshima island, where the Nabeshima Lighthouse, designed and supervised by Englishman Richard H. Brunton, was established in 1872. The white lighthouse is located on a small island accessible on foot from Yoshima.
Yoshima has three settlements: Anabe, Shiohama, and Uraki.
