The Great Seto Bridge passes through this island.
The Great Seto Bridge passes through this island.
Japan’s first ocean highway parking area was established here, and it is the only one where regular cars can disembark. The nearby Yoshima Plaza offers Kagawa souvenirs and local treats like gelato made with moshio seaweed salt or wasanbon sugar. It also features a lookout point where visitors can get a great view of the Great Seto Bridge. The island is connected to the uninhabited island of Nabeshima, where the Nabeshima Lightouse designed and overseen by the Scottish Richard Henry Brunton was built in 1872. You can visit the tiny island and see the chalk lighthouse on foot from Yoshima.
Yoshima is home to the villages of Anabe, Shiohama, and Urajo.
