The rice ball-shaped islands visible from here, Otsuchi Island and Kotsuchi Island, are both uninhabited.
These two islands form the "Tsuchi-no-to Strait," and due to their location at the narrowest point between Honshu and Shikoku, the area has long been known as an excellent fishing ground.
