Soja Shrine
In the Heian Period, Soja shrines were established near the national capitals of various countries by order of Emperor Shomu. The shrine was designated as the Sanuki Province Sosha, enshrining all the gods and goddesses, large and small, throughout the country, and was later named Sosha Myojin, meaning “Shrine of the Gods.
