さがんぼうしゃ
The Sakaide Tengu Festival, held on the second Saturday and Sunday of February, is the most famous festival in Japan. Sagamibo Tengu (also known as “Saganbo”) is mentioned in many historical books and documents, including “Matsuyama Tengu,” a song written by Zeami in the early Muromachi period (1336-1573), and “Shiramine” in “Amegetsu Monogatari” written by Akio Ueda in 1768 (Meiwa 5). The name “Matsuyama Tengu” appears in a number of historical books and documents.
