Shingu Tumulus
Dating to the late Kofun period (6th century), this tomb is believed to have been built for a powerful local ruler. Rare in Kagawa Prefecture, it features an antechamber and is built from massive stones, its entrance facing west. The mound is thought to have originally been a circular tumulus about 20 meters across. Artifacts discovered here, including Sue ware pottery and earrings, are preserved in the Sakaide City Local History Museum and the Tsuzumigaoka Archive.
