Sagamibo Shrine
This shrine enshrines Sagamibo Tengu, one of Japan’s eight great Tengu, said to protect Emperor Sutoku on Mount Shiramine.
The “Sakaide Tengu Festival,” held on the second Sunday in February, is famous.
Sagamibo Tengu (commonly called “Saganbo”) is widely mentioned in local Sanuki historical records.
It also appears in various historical records and literature, such as the Noh play “Matsuyama Tengu” written by Zeami in the early Muromachi period and in the “Shiramine” section of “Ugetsu Monogatari” by Ueda Akinari in 1768.

03 Osaki no Hana (Osaki Nose)
-
Osaki no Hana juts out from the northern end of Goshikidai on the Sakaide side. It is located at the narrowest part of the Seto Inland Sea, approximately 9 kilometers wide.
From here, you can see the rice ball-shaped islands of Otsuchi Island and Kotsuchi Island, both uninhabited.
These two islands are called “Tsuchi no Seto Strait,” and because they are in the closest sea area between Honshu and Shikoku, they have been known as a good fishing spot since ancient times.
