Lake Fuchu

Lake Fuchu (Fuchu Dam)

This reservoir lake was created by building a weir (Fuchu Dam) at Dondoro Abyss of the Ayagawa River. The reflections of an arch bridge and the cable-stayed bridge of the Takamatsu Expressway across the center of the lake allow for picturesque views.

The calm dam waters also make the lake an ideal spot for the Fuchu Lake Canoe Stadium, where high-profile national flatwater canoe competitions and training camps are held year-round.

The dam was originally built to supply industrial water to the Bannosu Coastal Industrial Park.

Dam height: 27.5m
Dam length: 131m
Reservoir area: 1.21k㎡
Construction period: 1964-1966
