CHIGOGATAKI FALLS

CHIGOGATAKI FALLS(Phantom Waterfall)
The rain that falls on Shiramine in Goshikidai falls down as the 80-meter-high Wakkanigataki Waterfall, passing under the Shiramine Temple and the Emperor Sutoku's Mausoleum. During periods of low rainfall, the water volume of Wakkanigataki Falls is almost negligible, flowing only sporadically. After heavy rains, however, it becomes a magnificent waterfall with a drop of about 80 meters, making it a fantastic waterfall. On the way up the Saigyohoji trail, you will see a steep rock face in front of you. This is Wakanigatake, and when it is misty, it has an ethereal atmosphere. There is no road leading to the vicinity of Wakkanigataki Falls.
You can view it from Prefectural Road No. 180 Kamogawa-Teishoba-Goshikidai line or from the Saigyohoji trail (on foot).
The road is narrow, so please refrain from parking on the street.
