Goshikidai” is a trapezoidal mountain range called a mesa (tableland), which is a unique geographical feature of Kagawa Prefecture. It stretches approximately 6 km from east to west and 10 km from north to south, and viewing spots are scattered over a wide area. Goshikidai consists of five peaks (Aobong, Hibong, Akabong, Baimong, and Kurobong) named after the five great colors of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism founded by Kobo Daishi, and has long been a place of worship, with Hakubongji and Nekoji temples located there, which are 88 sacred places on Shikoku Island.
