A favorite that never gets old for locals—bread from TRAPANI, baked by a former French & Italian chef

Head south along Route 33 toward Kanchō-dori, then turn west at Sakaide City Hall—TRAPANI comes into view right next to “Muromachi Udon.
The moment you gently open the door, a soft wheat aroma drifts out to greet you.
Inside, rows of freshly baked bread line the shelves, almost as if they’re saying, “Welcome.”

[Hearty savory breads where the fillings take center stage]

These rich, satisfying savory breads look filling at first glance—and they truly are.
Expect creations featuring the chef’s homemade chicken cutlet, chashu pork, roast beef, and more.
Packed with locally grown Sakaide vegetables and other Japanese produce, each piece is generously filled—perfect for a picnic or a day out.

On Thursdays from June to August and again from January to March, a limited-time takeout soup also makes an appearance.
In summer, it’s served chilled; in winter, it’s warm and comforting. Either way, it’s like a little treasure box of ingredients.

TRAPANI also offers fun themed days throughout the week—“Campagne Day,” “Multigrain Bread Day,” “Bagel Day,” and more.
No matter when you visit, there’s always something new to try—an easy reason to keep coming back.
Behind that variety is the chef’s careful craft: new breads are tested at the Sanuki Marche (where they’ve been a vendor for over 10 years), and the most-loved items gradually become shop staples.

With 50–60 kinds of bread available each day, even choosing what to take home becomes part of the fun.

A handmade bakery run by mother and daughter: “Lapan”

Follow the Sanuki Hamakaidō road and turn north at the corner of Hayashida Nursery School. About 500 meters ahead, turn west at the Sakaide Hayashida Post Office, and in a quiet residential neighborhood you’ll spot “Handmade Bread Shop Lapan,” as if it had been playing hide-and-seek. Gently open the door, and you’ll be welcomed by the soft warmth of sunlight and the aroma of freshly baked wheat.

[Crispy & Fluffy Danish Pastries]

Our editorial team’s proud recommendation is their Danish pastries.
From croissants to apple pies, each one is carefully hand-laminated—an artisanal treat made without relying on machines.
Because the butter can melt during preparation, they’re only available in the colder season—roughly from November through April.
Many regulars look forward to this time of year and even go out of their way to pick them up.

The day’s menu is announced on their official Instagram each morning they’re open.おIn the shop, you’ll typically find around 15 kinds of bread lined up on the shelves. Some of those items are born from regulars saying, “I’d love to try something like this,” while others are inspired by vegetables and fruit brought in by local farmers with a simple, “Feel free to use these.”
It’s a bakery that truly grows together with the community.

And the 19th of each month is a little extra special—“Lapan Day.” (It may shift around holidays, so check Instagram for the latest details!)As the seasons change, you’ll see sweet breads and desserts made with seasonal treats like blueberries, figs, yuzu, and lemons.
And everything is homemade—so you can count on a delicious discovery waiting for you.

〈have.a.nice.day.cafe and bakery PINKY BAGLE〉。
From the Sanuki Hamakaidō road, turn south at “Ueda Osteopathic Clinic,” and as the view suddenly opens up, you’ll find have.a.nice.day.cafe and bakery PINKY BAGLE appearing right ahead.

【Hearty, loaded savory bagels】

Our top recommendation here is, without a doubt, the savory bagels.Mentaiko, bulgogi, curry—you’ll find a lineup that might make you blurt out, “Wait, they have this too?”The popular curry bagel even comes with a small, lovely backstory.
It was created from a regular’s simple request—“I want a spicy curry.” That kind of menu that grows together with customers is part of what makes this shop feel so warm.

Even when you pick one up with tongs, you can feel the satisfying weight. Every bagel is chewy and generously filled.

After gaining experience through pop-up events, the shop opened in 2023.
As a rare bagel specialty shop in the Chūsan area, it quickly became a buzz-worthy spot from day one.
One of the owner’s biggest passions is the flour blend.
By combining Kagawa’s “Sanuki no Yume” with Hokkaido’s “Haruyokoi,” they create a dough that’s chewy, soft, and wonderfully springy.
On the occasional Saturdays when they open, some fans even buy enough to last three weeks.
At PINKY BAGLE, each item is individually wrapped, so you can pop them straight into the freezer for easy storage.
Move one to the fridge the night before, and tomorrow’s lunch suddenly becomes something to look forward to.
It’s a reliable ally for busy days.

At the back of the shop, beyond the retail area, there’s also a cozy eat-in space where you can relax.
If you get a little tired on a spring drive, we recommend taking a breather—bagel in one hand, drink in the other, and shoulders finally dropping.
Inside, a gentle calm flows by—different from the cute exterior, but just as charming.
