Soft spring colors, cherry blossom tour of Sakaide

Shiromineji Temple, the 81st temple of the 88 sacred places of Shikoku, is a beautiful place where history and nature harmonize.

Additionally, Shiromineji Temple is located on the mountainside, and one of its attractions is the spectacular view of the Seto Inland Sea along with the cherry blossoms.

Kamata Pond is a nature-rich spot where you can enjoy beautiful scenery throughout the four seasons.
Especially in spring, about 100 Somei Yoshino cherry trees bloom brilliantly, and when in full bloom, the entire pond is enveloped in a soft cherry blossom pink.
The cherry blossoms reflected on the water surface and the satoyama (rural mountain) landscape heal the hearts of visitors.

Also, a walking path of about 1.6 km is maintained around the pond, which is popular as a running course for local junior high and high school students and as a health walking spot in the morning and evening.

It is a representative cherry blossom spot in Sakaide City, a nature-rich park spreading across the summit area of Mount Shotsuji.
About 500 Somei Yoshino cherry trees are planted in the park, creating a magnificent floral landscape during the cherry blossom season.
Walking through the tunnel formed by rows of cherry trees, the petals dancing in the wind create a fantastical scene.

Emperor Sutoku, who was defeated in the Hogen Rebellion and spent time in Sanuki (Sakaide).
It is said that three years after Emperor Sutoku’s death, in 1168, Priest Saigyo visited the Shiromine Imperial Mausoleum.

The approximately 1.34-kilometer path from Seikai Shrine to Shiromine Imperial Mausoleum and Shiromineji Temple, which is believed to have been followed at that time, is the ‘Path of Priest Saigyo’.

It is a park developed to commemorate the opening of the Seto Ohashi Bridge, with numerous cherry trees planted throughout its vast grounds.
During the cherry blossom peak season, pink flowers spread across the area under the blue sky, delighting visitors.

There is a grassy plaza in the park, which is ideal for cherry blossom viewing with picnic sheets.

Ban-no-su Park, boasting a vast site, becomes crowded with many cherry blossom viewers when cherry blossoms bloom in spring.
Walking paths are well-maintained in the park, perfect for strolling while viewing cherry blossoms.

There are also spaces for picnics and barbecues, where you can enjoy an outdoor atmosphere with family and friends.
